Current RMIT Courses
At RMIT University, I am currently teaching the postgraduate course BUSM1273 – Project Management Techniques (class size: ~70 students; course coordinator and lecturer role) and the undergraduate courses BUSM3134 – Advanced Project Management (class size: ~80 students; course coordinator and lecturer role) and BUIL1156 – Project Administration (class size: ~100 students; course coordinator and lecturer role).
Past RMIT Courses
In the past, I taught the following courses at the RMIT University:
BUIL116 – Project Administration (Undergraduate – Honors)
(class size: ~100 students per cohort; coordinated and taught in S2-2023)
BUSM1273 – Project Management Techniques (Postgraduate)
(class size: between 50 and 120 students per cohort; coordinated and taught in S2-2018, S1-2019, S2-2019,S1-2020, S2-2020, S1-2021, S2-2021, S1-2022, S2-2022, S1-2023)
BUSM3134 – Advanced Project Management (Undergraduate – Honours)
(class size: ~65 students; coordinated and taught in S1-2022, S1-2023)
BUIL 1243 – Production Planning and Management (Undergraduate – Embedded Honours)(class size: ~120 students; coordinated and taught in S1 from S1 2011 to S1 2019)
BUIL1306 – Research Practice 1 (Undergraduate – Embedded Honours)
(class size: S1: ~230 students/S2: ~50 students; taught in S1-2015, S2-2015 and S1-2016, and coordinated and taught in S2-2016, S1-2017, S2-2017, S1-2018)
This course was split into small supervision groups across the 3 areas of the School. My role involved the management of the teaching staff and students and taking on supervison of one to two student groups for supervision (~23 students per group) each semester.
BUIL 1227 – Introduction to Construction Processes (Undergraduate)(class size: ~210 students; coordinated and taught in S2-2013, S2-2014, S1-2015)
BUIL 1245 – Construction Planning and Design I (Undergraduate)
(class size: ~80 students; coordinated and taught in S2-2012 and S2-2013; taught in S2-2015)
BUIL 1319 – Global Built Environment Study Tour (Elective)
(class size: ~20-35 students; lecturer role in S2-2013 (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong); course coordinator and lecturer in 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019 (Dubai and London))
BUIL 1156 – Project Administration (Undergraduate)
(class size: ~80 students; coordinated and taught in S1-2012 as a temporary replacement)BUIL 1136 – Construction Management (Undergraduate)
(class size: 130-180 students; coordinated and taught in S2-2009,S2-2010; then discontinued due to new program roll-out)
BUIL 1216 – Human Relations and Occupational Health and Safety (Undergraduate)

BUIL 1215 – Research Project (Undergraduate)Supervised undergraduate research projects (typically about 3 groups with 3-5 students each) from 2011 to 2015. Course was replaced by BUIL1306 Research Practice in 2015.
Teaching at the Singapore Institute of Management
I also have experience with offshore teaching for RMIT University at the Singapore Institute of Management. Courses I taught in Singapore include:
BUIL1138SIM – Construction Management(class size: ~40 students; taught in S1-2012)
Teaching at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
At the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) I used to teach Construction Cost Estimating and Analysis (CEE 422), which was an undergraduate and graduate course (typical class size: 45-60 students).
At UIUC I also developed a special interest course for graduate students, which was called Construction Data and Process Modeling (CEE 598 CDM), with invaluable input provided by my former Ph.D. advisor, Prof. Dr. Burcu Akinici at Carnegie Mellon University. The course covered different data processing and modeling theory (e.g. IDEF0 and Object-oriented modeling) and ultimately introduced students to Building Information Modelling. I taught this course during spring semesters at UIUC (typical class size: ~20 students). The course was also registered at the Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) Graduate Option Program. In Fall 2008, my proposal to make this a permanent course was accepted by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Consequently. This course was then listed as CEE 528 RS – Construction Data Modeling and had a bigger focus on Building Information Modelling. In the context of this course I was placed on the “List of Teachers Ranked as Excellent by Their Students” in Spring 2008.
I also worked with students on independent studies related to information technology in construction at UIUC.
