This course was split into small supervision groups across the 3 areas of the School. My role involved the management of the teaching staff and students and taking on supervison of one to two student groups for supervision (~23 students per group) each semester.

Teaching at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Past courses I have taught when working at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

At the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) I used to teach Construction Cost Estimating and Analysis (CEE 422), which was an undergraduate and graduate course (typical class size: 45-60 students).

At UIUC I also developed a special interest course for graduate students, which was called Construction Data and Process Modeling (CEE 598 CDM), with invaluable input provided by my former Ph.D. advisor, Prof. Dr. Burcu Akinici at Carnegie Mellon University. The course covered different data processing and modeling theory (e.g. IDEF0 and Object-oriented modeling) and ultimately introduced students to Building Information Modelling. I taught this course during spring semesters at UIUC (typical class size: ~20 students). The course was also registered at the Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) Graduate Option Program. In Fall 2008, my proposal to make this a permanent course was accepted by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Consequently. This course was then listed as CEE 528 RS – Construction Data Modeling and had a bigger focus on Building Information Modelling. In the context of this course I was placed on the List of Teachers Ranked as Excellent by Their Students in Spring 2008.

I also worked with students on independent studies related to information technology in construction at UIUC.
